I wasn't looking to start a supplement company.
I was looking for a bottle that didn't exist. So this is that bottle.

“I built this for anyone losing the same fight with their sleep.”

One guarantee, one ask — take it nightly, then decide. One bottle, or your first two subscription bottles: the 60‑Night Guarantee. A bottle is thirty nights; the guarantee runs sixty nights from the day your first bottle arrives.
If your nights didn't change, email hello@protocolday.com any time in those sixty nights and we refund those bottles in full. If it doesn't agree with you physically, stop taking it and email us the same day — no need to wait out the sixty nights.
Keep whatever's left — we don't want opened supplements back. On a subscription, that same email cancels future billing too. Bottle three is billed 60 days after you subscribe — a few nights before the window closes — and isn't covered, so if you're out, cancel or email us before then. Once per customer, and we mean it — this is a guarantee, not a free‑trial loop.
2 capsules with water, about 1 hour before bed. Food doesn't matter. Tie it to something you already do every night and stop thinking about it.
Missed a night? Skip it. Take your normal two tonight. Don't double up — four at once does nothing extra; the trials looked at most nights over weeks, not a perfect streak.
Fewer than two? You can, but one capsule is half of every ingredient, not a “light version.” More than two? No — the research doses are already in the two. If two isn't doing it, more capsules aren't the answer. Email us instead.
Alcohol works against you — not against the capsules, against your night. Dry nights give you cleaner data on whether this is for you.
Each ingredient has its own trials; the formula as a whole has not been tested in its own trial.
All three at the daily amounts the studies used — nothing dosed at a sprinkle for the label. Each lot ships only after an independent lab test — certificate at protocolday.com/jar. Every dose is listed in milligrams on the Supplement Facts below.
Pre-production label. Amounts are final; the trademark lines and the allergen statement are finalized before the first run.

Oleg Grynivetskyi — FounderHonest answer: not the first night like a sleeping pill. Go by the trials behind the actives, not by us: L‑theanine 200 mg was measured at four weeks (PMID 31623400), affron 28 mg a day at 28 days (PMID 34438361), and KSM‑66 600 mg a day over 60 days — that trial measured stress, not sleep, in adults under chronic stress (PMID 23439798). Judge it over weeks, not nights. Individual results vary — that's why the guarantee runs 60 nights from the day your first bottle arrives.

Partly. The claim we make for KSM‑66 is about stress: it supports a calmer stress response.† That rests on a 60-day trial in adults under chronic stress, at 600 mg a day given as 300 mg twice a day (PMID 23439798); Small Hours puts the 600 mg in one evening serving. KSM‑66 has also been studied in a sleep trial, but it enrolled patients with a clinical sleep complaint, so we don't rest a sleep claim on it — who took part is on the evidence page. Our sleep claim — Small Hours supports restful sleep.† — rests on the saffron and L‑theanine trials. We haven't compared KSM‑66 with Sensoril.
Because we counted what happens to long lists. In the sleep formulas we read with 16+ ingredients, 65% of doses are hidden in blends. Across 365 stated doses of four common sleep ingredients, only 27% reach the dose a trial used. A twenty-ingredient formula tells you about seven doses and thirteen names. At the doses the research used, twenty ingredients don't fit in two capsules. Three do.
You can. The trials didn't: each active was given daily without a break — L‑theanine for four weeks (PMID 31623400), affron for 28 days (PMID 34438361), KSM‑66 for 60 days (PMID 23439798). None of these three tested cycling, and none ran longer than 60 days. If you subscribe and want a break, cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date and subscribe again when you're ready — no fees, no hoops.

No melatonin, no antihistamines. Two capsules about an hour before bed.
