When will I actually feel something?
Not night one — this isn't a sleeping pill, and I'd rather you know that going in. What people usually describe: the evening gets quieter somewhere in week one, and by weeks two to four “wired at midnight” has less to work with. Ashwagandha in particular needs consistency to show up.† Some notice it sooner, some later, some not at all. That last group is exactly why the guarantee is 90 nights, not 7.
I forgot to take it last night. Now what?
Nothing dramatic. Skip it, take your normal four capsules tonight. Don't double up to “catch up” — there's no benefit to eight at once, and the protocol works on averages over weeks, not on a perfect streak. One missed night doesn't reset anything. Three missed nights in a row and you'll just be a bit further from the point where it kicks in.
Can I take more than four? Or fewer?
Fewer: you can, but you're paying for a formula and getting a fraction of it. Four capsules is one full serving — that's where the doses match the studies (600mg KSM-66, 300mg magnesium, 200mg theanine, 28mg affron® saffron). Two capsules is half of everything, not “a lighter version.” If you want to ease in, take four for the first three nights and see how you feel; if you truly want a smaller dose, three is the floor I'd suggest.
More: no. Not because it's dangerous at five, but because there's nothing to gain — the research doses are already in the four. Magnesium especially: the upper limit for supplemental magnesium is 350mg a day — a fifth capsule would put you over it. Stay at four. If four isn't doing it after 90 nights, more capsules aren't the answer — email us instead.
What if I take it too early, or too late?
The window is 30–60 minutes before bed — that's when the theanine and magnesium are doing their thing as you wind down. Took it at dinner? Fine, you'll just feel the calm earlier. Forgot until you're already in bed? Take it anyway; you lose a little of the wind-down effect, but the overnight ingredients don't care what time it is. Best habit: tie it to something you already do every night — brushing your teeth, lights off in the kitchen — and stop thinking about it.
Will I be groggy in the morning?
No melatonin, no sedatives — so there's no melatonin hangover to shake off.† The whole point of leaving melatonin out was mornings. If you ever do feel foggy on this, that's information: it usually means the timing was off (took it too late) or something else is going on with your night. Write to us; we actually want to know.
Can I take it with my other supplements? Or with alcohol?
Other supplements: usually yes — but if you're already taking magnesium separately, swap it rather than stacking it: the upper limit for supplemental magnesium is 350mg a day, and two products together can put you past it. Already on ashwagandha or theanine? Same thing. That's kind of the point of one bottle.
Medication: sedatives, antidepressants, thyroid meds, blood-pressure meds, anything for anxiety or sleep — talk to your doctor before starting. Not a formality; ashwagandha and magnesium can interact.
Alcohol: it'll work against you. A drink or two won't hurt the capsules, but alcohol wrecks the second half of the night on its own — no supplement fixes that. If you're testing whether Night Reset works for you, dry nights give you cleaner data.
How is this different from melatonin or a sleep gummy?
Melatonin tells your body when to sleep. It has nothing to say about why you're still awake — the stress, the racing head. And gummies usually dose it at 10–30x what your body makes, which is where the morning fog comes from. Night Reset skips melatonin entirely and goes after the wind-down instead: KSM-66 for the stress engine, theanine for the noise, magnesium for the night itself, and saffron for the weeks.† Four ingredients, full doses, every mg on the label.
Is it a subscription? Can I cancel?
No — nothing on this page auto-renews. One bottle is $69; the 3-bottle protocol is $149. Both are one-time purchases: no recurring charge, nothing to cancel. And if you pre-ordered, you can cancel any time before it ships for a full refund.
What's the guarantee, exactly?
Ninety nights from the day it arrives — not from the day you order. Finish the protocol, then decide: the window opens on night 90 and runs for thirty days after. If your nights didn't change, email hello@protocolday.com and we refund everything you paid. If it doesn't agree with you physically, don't wait for night 90 — email the same day and we refund you immediately. Keep whatever's left — we don't want opened supplements back. On a subscription, that same email cancels future billing too. First order, once per customer, and we mean it — this is a guarantee, not a free-trial loop.
Is it tested? Where's the proof?
Every batch is tested by an independent third-party lab — microbiology and heavy metals — and we'll publish the certificate for each batch on this site once the first run ships. The doses themselves are verified at the source: every lot of our branded ingredients ships with its manufacturer's certificate of analysis, published alongside. Ingredient studies with doses and PubMed links are in the Evidence Library. And our first structured beta runs under a pre-registered protocol — we publish the results whatever they show. No doctor in a white coat, on purpose. Documents instead.
Shipping?
The founding batch is in production. Pre-orders ship on the date shown at checkout — that date comes from our manufacturer, not from marketing. If it moves, you hear it from us first, with the option to cancel for a full refund. Once we're shipping from stock: orders leave within 1–2 business days and arrive in 3–5 via USPS/UPS. Free within the US. No international yet — working on it.
Is there a morning formula?
Not yet. Night Reset is the first bottle. Morning Metabolic and the full AM/PM system are next — subscribers hear first.
